In modern buildings, gas condnensing boilers provide high seasonal efficiency and low emissions. In retrofit applications, condensing heating allows existing systems to be upgraded without major structural changes, delivering improved performance and reduced operating costs.

Gas condensing boilers are especially beneficial where heat demand varies throughout the day or season. The ability to operate efficiently at partial load makes these systems suitable for buildings with fluctuating occupancy or mixed-use profiles. When combined with cascade configurations, they also offer redundancy and scalability for critical applications where uninterrupted heating is required.

How Fire Tube
heat exchanger works?

Condensing heating systems recover thermal energy from flue gases that would otherwise be lost. By cooling the exhaust gases below the dew point, water vapour condenses and releases latent heat, significantly increasing overall system efficiency.

At the heart of AIC condensing heating systems lies stainless steel Fire Tube heat exchanger technology. In a fire tube design, hot combustion gases flow through tubes surrounded by water, ensuring uniform heat transfer and stable thermal behaviour. This configuration is particularly effective for condensing operation, as it allows flue gases to cool evenly and promotes consistent condensation along the exchanger surface.

The vertical arrangement of fire tubes enables condensate to flow naturally through the flue paths, creating a self-cleaning effect that helps maintain long-term efficiency and reduces maintenance requirements. High water content and thermal inertia further contribute to stable temperatures and reduced cycling, especially in cascade systems.

Together, these elements form a robust and efficient heating solution optimised for demanding commercial and industrial environments.

Condensing heating
vs other solutions

Compared to traditional non-condensing boilers, condensing heating systems offer higher efficiency, lower emissions and improved part-load performance. The ability to recover latent heat from flue gases results in better seasonal efficiency, especially in modern low-temperature systems.

When compared to older atmospheric or standard boilers, condensing systems typically require less fuel to deliver the same thermal output. Fire Tube designs further enhance durability and stability, making them suitable for long operating hours and demanding applications.

In comparison with alternative technologies such as electric heating or standalone heat pumps, condensing heating systems offer high output density, compact plantroom requirements and proven performance in high-demand environments.

They are also frequently integrated into hybrid systems, combining different technologies to optimise overall energy balance.

This flexibility makes condensing heating a versatile solution for a wide range of commercial and industrial projects.

FAQ

Fire Tube technology means that hot gases pass from a burner through one or more tubes running through a sealed container of water. The heat of the gases is transferred through the walls of the tubes by thermal conduction, heating the water. During the process, the flue gas condenses.
